At HR:4UK we’ve strengthened our growing team with the recent appointment of Operations Manager Katie Price.

Katie, joins us from Midlands‐based UK energy broker, Nationwide Energy Consultants, where she worked as an account manager.

Prior to that she was a manager of a contact centre for online retail business, Range. Katie’s role with HR:4UK is a newly created one which sees her looking after the operational aspects of everything we do.

She said: “As operations manager I’m involved in the day to day running of HR:4UK’s business. I’m currently busy reviewing all the company’s processes and looking at areas where we can streamline workflow and make it more efficient.”

Although Katie hasn’t worked for an HR consultancy before, her valuable experience and know‐how in developing systems for fast‐paced businesses like ours makes her an ideal addition to the team.

While employed at the online business, for example, she was heavily involved in introducing a CRM (customer relationship management) system from scratch.

Katie added: “It’s exciting to be in a role which wasn’t previously here. It means I can really make it my own and use my experience to make a difference.

“As a new member of the team from outside HR, I’m also able to look at the business and its processes with a fresh pair of eyes.
“I’m still finding my feet, but the people here are great and I’m enjoying learning about HR. There’s so much to it and I’m finding it very interesting. I grew up in Desford and went to Bosworth College so it’s nice to be working in Hinckley, which I know well.

Katie, who left school after taking A levels – including biology – had originally planned to go on to university and take a science‐based degree. But after discovering she had a talent for the operational side of running a business, her career plans changed direction.
She said: “I liked working in the contact centre and made good progress in my role. Also, going to university is so expensive – starting work straight after A levels has worked out fine for me. I’ve done well in my previous jobs and I’m now enjoying this new opportunity at HR:4UK.”

Katie is certainly not afraid of change and welcomes taking on fresh challenges both at work and in her private life.

As well as planning her wedding next spring and selling her house, she’s also embarked on an ambitious project with her fiancé to build their own home in Whitwick, North West Leicestershire.

She said: “We don’t have many hobbies so we needed to find something we could do together outside work. We had a talk about moving to a new house, and the next thing I knew we were buying a piece of land to build one on.”

“It’s quite a big project but my fiancé is practical. He has his own lorry business, so he knows the right people to talk to for advice.”

With work commitments, her wedding next May and the house building project, Katie has had to give up her gym membership, but she always makes time for Ralph, her two‐year‐old blue Staffordshire terrier.

She added: “He’s still a pup and needs a lot of exercise so he keeps me on my toes. There’s a lot of change in my life at the moment but I’m enjoying it all.”
